Pond | Split Level Deck

This sloping garden was once a series of ponds and waterways set into a rockery, but time had taken its toll and I was asked to re design, incorporating a bigger pond and some grand steps up to the top of the garden. I decided to build a larger pond above ground and layer the garden, using levels as well as steps. We re-used all the old stone in the garden to fill the Gabion cages, and built three decks and a floating seat using hardwood, which compliments the light coloured stone. There are various planters, one of which houses a water feature above the pond. We added new planting and a sloping pathway to allow mower access from the lower lawn to the upper lawn. Outdoor lighting included lights in the pond and led strips under the floating seat. It was a complex build but with great results.
